The company on Wednesday
unveiled its advanced auto transmission engine in Chennai, carrying a
capacity of 110 CC. The auto transmission engine will be offered in both
scooters and bikes and the company will roll-out by the second half of
year 2013.

Speaking to the reporters on the occasion, Mr. Vinay Harne, President of
new product development, TVS Motor Company, said, "We will introduce
the scooter and motorcycle from the second half of 2013. Engine capacity
will be from 110 cc. It has fully automatic gearshift and 20 per cent
better fuel efficiency compared to conventional technology, with
significant reduction in the carbon emission.”
The automatic transmission changes gears through electronic control, automatically selecting the gear ratios for particular riding enabling the vehicle to run more efficiently.

The compay also added that the new technology will replace the current technology with slightly higher price.
Besides launching the new auto transmission models, the company will also introduce its current models with the same technology, in year 2013.
