Oxy-hydrogen - Using water as a fuel to power up your ride.

People are worried very much as the prices of fuel are going up drastically and they are also struggling to cut down their daily fuel expenses. Our country has the privilege for levying more tax on fossil fuels for profits. Imagine using ordinary tap water as fuel for your vehicles. "wow, It will be awesome to think, but will it happen?" The answer is yes, and this technology will be sure for getting implemented in the near future. The theme is extracting oxygen and hydrogen from water and using it as fuel for internal combustion engines. Let's see how far this technology has been developed till date.

Process of electrolysis
During our school days we would have studied  the process of electrolysis in chemistry. I hope most are familiar with the chemical symbol of water. "H2O". Water has two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom in a combined form. By passing electric current through electrodes in water we can split hydrogen and oxygen separately. This process is called as electrolysis. Now we'll see what's happening in the real world situation.

By using electrolysis the hydrogen and oxygen can be collected from water and can be use as a source of fuel or a vehicle can be converted to a hybrid type by using along with conventional fuels. Both hydrogen and oxygen gases in the combined form can be called as oxy-hydrogen (HHO). The next thing is how can we use the oxy-hydrogen as fuel in internal combustion engines. Its quite simple.

Oxy-hydrogen generator connected to the air intake system.

A car battery provides the current necessary for the process of electrolysis to take place. The electrodes are placed inside a canister and water is filled inside.

Inside a oxy-hydrogen generator.

When electric current is passed the hydrogen and oxygen gases are generated which is fed into the air intake system of the engine. Now this system is being used as a hybrid one (using petrol or diesel along with oxy-hydrogen as fuel).

Nowadays we are using LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) as fuel for vehicles. In future we may expect oxy-hydrogen gas as a complete alternative fuel without using it as hybrid. Besides it can also be used in welding and cutting.

The overall scheme

Similar to gas welding, the flame from oxy-hydrogen is used in welding and cutting torches. It has more intense heat and highly efficient when compared to conventional oxy-acetylene flame.

The oxy-hydrogen induction into the engine increases horsepower, efficiency and cleaner operation and better combustion of fuel. This system is cleaner, greener and sustainable technology for the future, since its combustion produces water vapour without leaving any toxic fumes. Hence it helps to cut down carbon emissions, air pollution and fuel costs. Moreover it is safe to install and reliable to use.

Benefits of OxyHydrogen

Petrol or Diesel - it is suitable for both, petrol and diesel engine powered vehicles.

More Horsepower and better performance - because of better combustion, your engine would take less fuel and burns it more completely, the overall effect is dramatic reduction in harmful emissions. incomplete combustion results in carbon monoxide emissions which is deadly.

Reduced engine temperature - Correct air-fuel ratio along with complete combustion maintains correct engine temperature.

Reduced carbon build-up in your engine - extending the life of your vehicle. Incomplete combustion forms carbon deposits inside the engine. Enjoy a longer life expectancy of your engine, especially pistons, valves, rings and bearings.

The engine runs smoother, calmer and quieter.

Extend the oil change and tune up time service period.

Your clean-burning fuel will add only water and oxygen into the atmosphere instead of polluting it. It eliminates harmful exhaust emissions that pollute the environment and contribute to global warming. It cleans up emissions that damage your health and the health of your family.

A nice technology for greener tomorrow..
