Suzuki jet cooling system (SJCS) in GS 150R - explained.

Suzuki's 150 cc segment the GS 150R symbolizes a kind of engine cooling technology called as SJCS.  Suzuki's jet cooling system (SJCS) is being employed in these motorcycles to improvise better engine cooling. Normally a conventional engine as we all know is cooled by 3 different ways - air cooled, oil cooled and liquid cooled, But this is a type of special design which is being used in air cooled engines to enhance better cooling and there by providing constant performance. This technology is inherited from Suzuki's advanced cooling system (SACS) which is some what more technologically advanced version of it. okay let's see here in brief how it works.

The Suzuki advanced cooling system (SACS) uses a special type of engine oil pump consisting a double-chamber oil pump to circulate oil inside the engine. The high pressure pump side is used to lubricate engine oil for the most crucial parts of an engine like crankshaft, piston, valve train and cylinder walls which has to withstand higher temperatures. While the low pressure pump side which has high volume but low pressure is used to lubricate clutch, gearbox and other moving parts. After this process the engine oil passes through an oil filter and then to an oil cooler and is returned to the engine oil sump. Subsequently this cycle continues.

Centrifugal oil pump
A centrifugal oil pump is just similar to a normal to a household bore well pump consisting of gears or rotors depending on the need or design driven by crankshaft itself. This pumps oil to various parts inside the engine for cooling and lubricating different parts. It can be compared to water pipes carrying water for different locations in a building. In the same way an engine has provisions inside it which allows oil to circulate, cool and lubricate different parts. SJCS is one such modified feature which has a jet underneath the piston that sprays engine oil directly beneath the piston and cools it.

This in turn induces more oil to the cylinder walls and underneath the piston which improves better lubrication, faster heat transfer and less wear.

Suzuki"s Jet cooling system  (SJCS)

Well I don't know the exact functional advantage of this system. It might be some added feature for the existing one for maximizing engine protection. According to Suzuki it enhances the power output of the engine and accelerates the bike's performance in the low to mid-range speed.
